Wonderful Wednesday - Love my Scrap Mystery Quilt I - Color Pop, Block B.

Lets make Block B.
You can keep working on Block A's too. The idea is to love the colors you put together. And keep adding squares until you just say WOW.

This block follows the same sew, flip and quilt as Block A.


Here is the picture with the block and strip sizes.
NOTE TIP - WHEN I GIVE YOU A LENGTH FOR A STRIP PLEASE MEASURE YOUR SPACE AND GET YOUR NUMBER. ALL OUR SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT THE SAME.

Lets make Block B.
Cut a 12 1/2" size backing and batting.
The we will sew, flip and quilt the piece to these two pieces.

1.& 2.  Start with a 3 1/2" square. sew a 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" rectangle to the right of the 3 1/2" square.
Press open and zig zag or decorative stitch to quilt this to the block.
3. Sew a 4 1/2" square to the top of our 3 1/2" square and 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" rectangle we just sewed together. Right sides together, sew 1/4" seam allowance.  Press open and zig zag or decorative stitch to quilt this to the block.
4. Get a 3 1/2" strip and trim it (or measure your area) 7 1/2" long. Place this right sides together with the right of the section we have just finished. Sew 1/4" inch seam.  Press open and zig zag or decorative stitch to quilt this piece down.
5. Get a 2" strip (measure your space) mine is 7 1/2" long. Place right sides together to the bottom or our completed section. Press open and zig zag or decorative stitch this to the block.
6. Get a 3 1/2" strip (measure your space) mine is 9" long . Right sides together to the left side of the block we just finished. Sew 1/4" seam. Press open and zig zag or decorative stitch to quilt this down.
7. Get a 2" strip (measure your space) mine is 10.5" long . Right sides together at the top of the block part we have together. Stitch 1/4" seam allowance. Press open and zig zag or decorative stitch to quilt this to the block.

trim the block to 10 1/2" x 10 1/2" square.

Next will be adding embellishment with more squares on squares. Be creative.
